Your ‘dream run’

A few days ago, somehow (I’m not sure how) I stumbled on an online competition from Salomon, the trail running company, whereby you could win your ‘dream run’. Because I’m kind, I’m going to share the link HERE so you can enter too.

It’s a fun one. Salomon ask you where you would most like to run and which of their athletes you would most like to run with! Isn’t that the best question to mull over??? I needed something to help me procrastinate from something I didn’t want to do, so I took a few minutes to think about what my dream run would be and I decided the following.

Where would it be?

It would be on the trails around Annecy, in France. Annecy is my dream town. It’s a beautiful old town on a gorgeous lake, surrounded by mountains. Because it’s in France, I could spend the day running mountain trails, then come back into Annecy,  speak French, refuel with baguette and pains au chocolat, do a spot of shopping at Decathlon and Monoprix and spend the evening beside the lake with a kir royal. Every single French box ticked.

The trails don’t look too dreadful either.

For a girl who loves lakes, mountains and all the French things, this is seriously just my idea of heaven.

Who would it be with?

Salomon specified it had to be one of their trail running team, which was fine with me as most of my professional running heroines run for Salomon. I picked three – Anna Frost, Stevie Kremer and Emelie Forsberg. I have such a ridiculous girl-crush on all three of them! Emelie is currently very injured, so I suggested that she could bake cakes for after the run if she hadn’t recovered in time…she’s an amazing baker, according to her instagram account.

My entire family love Salomons

And you?

So there you have it…my dream run. So what’s your? Where would you run, and who with?? You’re not allowed to say ‘my mum’ or ‘my best running friends’…you’ve got to pick a pro that inspires you! Go on…procrastinate, put off doing the laundry, spend some time day-dreaming!

Note: This is not a sponsored post at all. I just entered a competition, thought it was fun and wondered where you guys would run and who with? I can’t deny I’m hoping Salomon read this and think ‘Ooh, she’s great, let’s pick her as the competition winner’ though!!

I loved the picture of the woman running up on the mountains! For me, any run that I can do for more than 10 minutes is a good run. 🙂

Yes, sometimes just being able to run is enough!!

  2. Thanks for the link to the contest! I didn’t know about it and even if we have a very very small chance to win, well, why not trying?
So, my dream location, easy one: South Island, New Zealand. I spent 6 months in NZ back in 2009. We travelled around the country in a van. It was an incredible experience. We were not that much into running at the time and it’s such a shame as the trails and ALL THE OUTDOORS there are AMAZING/STUNNING/UNBELIEVABLE. I always say I’ll get back there one day, but, really I hope I’ll get the chance to do it.
As for the athlete to run with… well, it was hard because my real heroes are not running for Salomon (Anton is number 1 in my heart and I also like Timothy Allen Olson). Still, I also like Ryan Sandes but he is a bit too perfect for me. I chose Anna Frost as she is inspiring and she’s from NZ SO she IS a nice person that’s sure.
    🙂

If you ran with Anton, I’d die of jealousy:)

You know, I really regret not being a runner or a cyclist when I lived in certain places – in Wales as a student, in Aix, in Tuscany. Such wonderful opportunities and I had no idea they were there!! Hope you get back to NZ.
