This afternoon, we will pack up the car until it groans and head up to Apple Hill for the Apple Blossom Weekend and the trail run. I still have no idea what the Husband’s race plans are, and if I’ll be pushing the Dude or not. This race has literally NO info online about it – the ‘course map’ is just a dot to show where the start-line is. I did manage to find THIS handy little write up on Alisyn’s blog. She very kindly told me it was varying terrains, no shade, hot, at altitude. Should be a barrel of laughs, especially with a stroller!! Whatever…I’m really excited about the weekend.
This is what the week looked like.
Saturday: 4 mile trail run with strollers
Sunday: 8 min abs plus 80 mins over-eating at a BBQ
Monday: 2 miles at a dismal Run 4 Boston
Tuesday: 12 miles in Half Moon Bay
Wednesday: Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Level 2
I thought this was getting easier. But it’s not!
Thursday: 6 miles
As often happens, I didn’t want to get up and run at 6am, but the cat woke me up and at 6.30 I found myself outside and ready to run. I wanted to push the pace where possible (i.e. downhill) but somehow found myself blitzing along in the early morning sunshine. By the time I got to mile 5 and knew I was on for a good time, nothing was holding me back. So somehow I did 6.4 miles in 54.49at an 8.35 pace.Yeah, I don’t know how that happened either.
And tonight, I went into the city in the evening for the Another Mother Runner party at Sports Basement! But I’ll talk about that more next week.
Friday: 8 mins abs on youtube. And leg-resting.
Okay…have a lovely weekend, all of you! A weekend of fresh air and apples is calling my name!
