I nicked this idea from this really sweet blog. The idea is a little narcissistic (in fact, very much so) so if you think I should get over myself, let me know. I am not trying to make out that I am cool because anyone who knows me knows that I am not remotely so. Your Dad would be into something before I got round to liking it. And you’ll see proof of that in the below. But I like the idea of noting down what I’m into at the moment, so I can look back in a year’s time. So if you like this, let me know and I’ll do it every now and again, especially if anyone replies to tell me what they’re currently….

I’ve just finished ‘The Great Gatsby‘. I read it about 15 years ago and loved it, but this time, I’ve felt a bit let down. The plot is a bit thin, don’t you think? I know this is sacrilege, America and don’t worry, I LOVE Fitzgerald, but TGG isn’t exactly ‘Tender is the Night‘, is it?? I am looking forward to the Baz Luhrmann film though. Next to read is ‘The history of love’ which my friend Tanja gave me. I’m also reading a lovely Christian book called ‘Why Pray‘ which if you’re into praying, you’ll love.

The Tour de France. But you knew that! Yesterday was a rest day for the boys on bikes. I missed them.

We are STILL working through Grey’s Anatomy. I think we’re on series 6. It’s a nightly reminder of the knife edge between life and death. The Husband and I are getting good at diagnosing a) what’s wrong with the character and b) who’s going to die tonight. Miranda Bailey is up there with CJ Cregg as All-Time-Top-Female-TV-Characters.

I also, VERY belatedly, finally watched ‘Fight Club‘ which I did like, even though it’s not at all my kind of film and I find Brad Pitt deeply unattractive. Interesting film though.

SO much to look forward to.

  • The Husband’s birthday on the 17th
  • The SF Half marathon on the 29th.
  • The Olympics
  • Maybe winning the Tour de France…
  • The arrival of The Mother and The Father in 23 sleeps time. SO excited.

Listening to..

I’ve been in a desperate hunt for ‘The Song of the Summer’ and I found it at the weekend, purely by chance. It’s ‘Some Nights‘ by Fun and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. This is definitely going on my SF Half Soundtrack! Song of the Year for me, so far!

I’m also listening to the music from my church’s Vacation Bible Camp in the car, with the Dude and I honestly love it. It’s so cheery!

  • Watermelon. Bowls and bowls of it in an evening.
  • Ricotta. I had no idea how nice ricotta on wholemeal bread is!

  • Running blogs. The obsession  continues. They honestly make me want to run faster and better. That must be a good thing, surely. Know any good ones for me?
  • Any Hawaii website, trying to plan our holiday!

And you? What are you up to? Is this naff or is it fun??
