A day-trip to Paris

Well, Happy February 6th everybody! It’s my birthday!  I am even further from 21 than I was yesterday!!! I’m spending the day without my lovely Husband but with my parents, which is pretty special. And because it’s my birthday…here’s a very self-indulgent post which is TOTALLY not about running.

I went to Paris yesterday. For the day.

I am ever so slightly shame-faced about this – it’s a pretty decadent thing to do, both in terms of environmental impact and financially. In my defense, I adore France (as I’ve said before), I adore the French, their language and their baked goods and I live on the other side of the world. Opportunities to immerse myself in Frenchness are few and far between.  So I Carpéd the Diem to spend a day there. I cajoled my mother into coming, grabbed the Dude’s passport and off we went. The forecast was grim…rain all day, hail in the morning, thunder storms in the afternoon. In the end it was bitterly cold but dry all day!!! Hurrah!

Here are the photos.

Happy belated birthday! What a great way to spend it. I have been to Paris one day- not long enough to eat all the amazing food I want to eat there (I am very food focused). I hope this year is a great one.
