Well, Happy February 6th everybody! It’s my birthday! I am even further from 21 than I was yesterday!!! I’m spending the day without my lovely Husband but with my parents, which is pretty special. And because it’s my birthday…here’s a very self-indulgent post which is TOTALLY not about running.
I went to Paris yesterday. For the day.
I am ever so slightly shame-faced about this – it’s a pretty decadent thing to do, both in terms of environmental impact and financially. In my defense, I adore France (as I’ve said before), I adore the French, their language and their baked goods and I live on the other side of the world. Opportunities to immerse myself in Frenchness are few and far between. So I Carpéd the Diem to spend a day there. I cajoled my mother into coming, grabbed the Dude’s passport and off we went. The forecast was grim…rain all day, hail in the morning, thunder storms in the afternoon. In the end it was bitterly cold but dry all day!!! Hurrah!
Here are the photos.
Morning…up the Eiffel Tower
Lunch…my favourite café on my favourite street, Rue Cler.
Afternoon…Dude sleeping, Musée d’Orsay

Tell me…why do all the ladies have to be naked???
The men, they got to wear clothes! The ladies?? Nope.
Evening…mad dash back to the airport bus along the river…
Thanks for indulging me!!!

Miss it sooo much!
I know. Me too. It was SO nice to be back. xxx
You had me at pain du chocolat! Looks like a fabulous day – Happy Birthday (again)!
Thanks!!! Yeah, with no disrespect to America, France’s baked goods are incredible!!!
Great photos. The cheese shop looks tres beau!! 25 years since I’ve been to Paris, Happy birthday for yesterday x
Time to go back!!!! And my birthday is today, there’s a FB misunderstanding
Looks like an amazing day! I love Paris and I too have a secret penchant for their baked goods. Love the photos xx
Can’t fault them, can you !!

Great photos. Happy birthday! Mine’s a week from today — are you 1975 too? Aquarians rule!
Yay!!! 1975 was a vintage year!!! Got good plans for your big day?
Nothing as exciting as Paris!! Definitely some kind of delicious food though. 38 will be great!
Happy belated Birthday. Looks like a great way to spend the day.
Thank you!

Happy belated birthday! What a great way to spend it. I have been to Paris one day- not long enough to eat all the amazing food I want to eat there (I am very food focused). I hope this year is a great one.
Thank you!! Yeah, it was a fab day out. One day isn’t long enough but it’s better than nothing!
